The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government has decided to establish five additional FM radio stations to expand transmission coverage across the province.

The directive was issued by Special Assistant to the Chief Minister on Information and Public Relations, Shafi Jan, while chairing a meeting on the performance and expansion of FM radio services.

Officials briefed the meeting on the role of existing radio stations in promoting public awareness and highlighting government initiatives.

The special assistant also directed authorities to enhance the transmission reach of the current 10 stations.

He further instructed the installation of a modern transmitter at Pakhtunkhwa Radio Peshawar and called for the early launch of a dedicated website and mobile application for the radio network.

Highlighting the importance of radio, Shafi Jan said the province has a well-developed community FM network, which serves as an effective medium for public communication, disaster awareness, and the dissemination of information.

He emphasised strengthening radio services to ensure wider access to reliable information while integrating modern technology to improve outreach and engagement.
