Karachi Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab on Tuesday inspected ongoing reconstruction and development work on Jahangir Road being carried out by the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC).

During the visit, he reviewed progress on the road’s second section and directed officials to maintain construction standards and ensure timely completion of the project. According to officials, reconstruction work on the second section is nearing completion, with only finishing work remaining.

The mayor said traffic flow on Jahangir Road has improved following the development work and noted that efforts are underway to provide better travel facilities for residents.

He added that although Jahangir Road falls under the federal government’s jurisdiction, the KMC undertook the reconstruction project for the benefit of Karachi’s residents.

Barrister Wahab also announced plans to remove unnecessary overhead cables along the road. He said upgrades to streetlights and the green belt are also planned as part of ongoing improvement efforts in the area.
