Railways Minister Hanif Abbasi has directed the issuance of a no-objection certificate (NOC) for the construction of an underpass at Malir Halt, clearing a key hurdle in the project.
The directive was issued during a meeting attended by Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, Sindh Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, and Chief Secretary Asif Haider Shah.
According to the chief minister’s spokesperson, the meeting also agreed to restore the Karachi Circular Railway (KCR) and suburban train services.

Railways Minister Hanif Abbasi said joint efforts would be made to modernize and improve the reliability of the railway system.
During the meeting, the chief secretary said the Sindh government plans to construct an underpass at Malir Halt, but delays in obtaining the NOC from Pakistan Railways had stalled the project. Following this, the railways minister directed that the NOC for the Malir Halt underpass be issued.
