The Karachi administration has approved 21 cattle markets across the city ahead of Eidul Azha, distributing sites across all districts while assigning oversight to multiple authorities to manage the seasonal activity.

According to the official plan, four markets will operate as permanent facilities, while 17 will be established on a temporary basis. Six markets will be managed by the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), while the remaining will fall under the supervision of deputy commissioners and town municipal corporations (TMCs).

The Northern Bypass has been designated as the main cattle market for the city, while traditional markets in Malir, including Asu Goth and the Cattle Colony, will continue functioning alongside newly designated sites.

Authorities have directed all relevant departments to ensure strict arrangements for cleanliness, traffic management, security and waste disposal at every market location.

District-wise, in West, cattle markets will be set up at Taiser Town near Northern Bypass, Aftab Ground in Sector 11½ Orangi Town, and 2½ Number Ground in UC-9 Orangi Town.

In Korangi, the approved sites include K-Area Ground on Bagh-i-Korangi Road, Coastguard Korangi Garrison in Madina Colony, an open space opposite Attock Petrol Pump, and Eidgah Ground in Korangi No. 5.

In Malir, markets will operate at Aasoo Goth, Cattle Colony, and Memon Dairy Farming Society near Deh Konhar. In Central, the designated locations are Sunday Car Bazaar in Sector 11-D North Karachi, Nazimabad No. 2 near Ghalib Library, and New Karachi Sector 11-I.

In East, five sites have been approved: Dost Muhammad Khaskheli Goth near Deh Dozan, Azeemabad Housing Society in Sohrab Goth, Blocks 5 and 6 of Gulistan-i-Jauhar, KMC Ground behind Safari Park, and Rizwan Housing Society near Safoora Chowrangi.

In Keamari, cattle markets will be established at Yousuf Goth near the bus terminal behind Saeedabad police station and Maweshi Mandi Keamari. District South will have a single market at Naval Heights near Kala Pul.
