Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry on Monday inaugurated the Islamabad Ataturk Avenue Expansion Project on behalf of Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi as part of efforts to improve infrastructure in the federal capital.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony, Talal Chaudhry said the Ministry of Interior was working under the vision of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to develop a modern, green and well-planned Islamabad.

According to officials, the width of Ataturk Avenue has been expanded from 24 feet to 52 feet to improve traffic flow and reduce congestion in the area. The upgraded avenue now includes modern lighting, an improved drainage system, pedestrian walkways and additional safety features.

Talal Chaudhry said the project was completed in line with the federal government’s infrastructure development plans while ensuring protection of trees and environmental considerations during construction activities.

He added that environmental protection would remain a priority in future development projects across the capital.
