The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has summoned the Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad and the Inspector General of Police to personally explain why sheesha cafes violating no-objection certificate (NOC) conditions are still operating in the federal capital.
Chief Justice Sardar Sarfraz Dogar issued the order while hearing a petition seeking inspections of sheesha cafes, action against establishments found violating NOC requirements, and the submission of a compliance report to the court.
The court directed both officials to appear in person next week and also sought a report from the Chief Commissioner Islamabad detailing the inspections carried out and the measures taken against sheesha cafes found to be operating in violation of the applicable conditions.
