The Islamabad administration has exempted shops, markets, shopping malls, restaurants, and several other businesses from the recently imposed early closure timings until May 31, 2026.

According to a notification issued by the Office of the District Magistrate Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), the exemption has been granted with immediate effect in continuation of an earlier notification issued on May 5 and in reference to a Cabinet Division notification dated May 18.

The notification stated that all shops, markets, shopping malls, restaurants, food outlets, tandoors, grocery stores, kiryana stores, meat shops, fruit shops including dry fruit outlets, vegetable vendors, and bakeries would remain exempt from the closure timings restrictions until May 31.

However, marriage halls, marquees, and other commercial venues hosting festive events will still be required to close by 10pm.

The order has been circulated to relevant authorities including the Islamabad administration, Islamabad Police, Capital Development Authority (CDA), Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA), and Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) for implementation and public awareness.
