An Indian Air Force (IAF) wing commander has been arrested by Delhi Police for allegedly leaking sensitive defense information to a woman he met through social media, according to Indian media reports.
The 44-year-old officer was reportedly arrested on May 30 and is currently in judicial custody at Tihar Jail. His identity has not been disclosed by authorities.
According to reports, Delhi Police allege that the wing commander installed data-stealing software on the mobile phone of his female social media contact and subsequently shared sensitive defense-related information.
The woman was reportedly known to the officer through social media, and investigators are examining the nature and extent of their communications.
Indian media reports said police are continuing to question the officer as part of the investigation. Authorities have not publicly disclosed the specific defense information allegedly shared or the full details of the charges against him.
