Naveed Ahmed on Monday sealed an ice cream factory located on Hangu Road over violations of hygiene and food safety regulations during an inspection carried out on the directives of Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Nawaz.

Leading an inspection team, the assistant commissioner raided the production unit where officials found the use of substandard ingredients and poor sanitary conditions in the manufacturing area. The inspection was conducted as part of the district administration’s ongoing campaign against unhygienic food production units.

Following the inspection, the factory was sealed on the spot and the owner was fined under relevant food safety laws. Naveed Ahmed said strict action would continue against businesses involved in unsafe food practices that endangered public health.

He warned that no compromise would be made on hygiene standards and said food outlets and manufacturing units violating health regulations would face legal action, including heavy penalties and possible permanent closure.
