The Higher Education Commission (HEC), through its Education Testing Council (ETC), has opened registration for the Higher Education Aptitude Test (HAT) for students seeking admission to MS and M.Phil. programs in Pakistani universities. According to the announcement, the test is also for candidates applying for HEC-sponsored local and international scholarships. HEC said students who are planning to apply, or have already applied, for MS and M.Phil. admissions at universities accepting HAT scores are eligible to register for the test.

The last date for online registration is Sunday, June 7, 2026, while the HAT examination will be conducted on Sunday, July 5, 2026. Candidates can submit applications online through the ETC portal at etc.hec.gov.pk.

The commission has also provided an online complaint and support portal at onlinehelp.hec.gov.pk for applicants facing registration-related issues. According to the advertisement, the initiative is being managed by the Education Testing Council under the HEC in Islamabad.
