The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports is preparing to launch a home delivery service for passports across Pakistan as part of its wider push to modernize public services.
Director General Muhammad Ali Randhawa said the new facility will allow applicants to receive their passports at their doorstep after paying a nominal courier fee.
According to officials, discussions are currently under way with a courier company to finalize the service. Once an agreement is signed, passports will be dispatched directly from Islamabad to applicants across the country.
The move is aimed at making the passport process more convenient for citizens and reducing the need for repeated visits to passport offices.
Randhawa said the service will first be launched within Pakistan, while overseas Pakistanis are expected to be included in the second phase.
The planned rollout is part of a broader effort to improve passport services, reduce procedural delays, and make the system more accessible through digital and cashless solutions.
If implemented as planned, the home delivery option could offer major relief to applicants who currently have to collect passports in person after completion.
