Google has launched the Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL, bringing major upgrades to the company’s flagship smartphone lineup. The new models introduce a rear HiLight notification system, Google’s Tensor G6 chip, Gemini Intelligence, brighter 120Hz displays, and a camera system capable of up to 120x Pro Zoom.

The two phones share the same core hardware and camera system, with the main difference being their display and battery sizes.

The Pixel 11 Pro features a 6.3-inch Super Actua LTPO OLED display, while the Pixel 11 Pro XL gets a larger 6.8-inch version. Both displays support a variable refresh rate from 1Hz to 120Hz and have a peak brightness of 3,600 nits.

The smaller model has a 1280 x 2856 resolution at 495 pixels per inch, while the Pro XL has a 1344 x 2992 resolution at 486ppi. Both screens use Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 with an anti-scratch coating.

Google has retained a premium design with a silky matte glass back, polished finish, and spacecraft-grade aluminum frame. The phones are also IP68-rated for dust and water resistance.

The Pixel 11 Pro measures 6 x 2.8 x 0.3 inches and weighs 7.2 ounces. The Pro XL measures 6.4 x 3 x 0.3 inches and weighs 8 ounces. Both models come in Canyon, Olive, Fog, and Obsidian.

One of the most unusual additions is HiLight. It is designed to provide notifications without requiring users to look at the display. When the phone is placed face-down, HiLight can glow when a preferred contact calls or when the user is talking to Gemini. Google says the feature is exclusive to the Pixel 11 Pro smartphones.

The Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL are powered by Google’s new Tensor G6 processor. Both models also include the Titan M3 security coprocessor, which forms part of Google’s multi-layer hardware security system and supports quantum-safe secure boot.

The phones start with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The 512GB and 1TB versions increase RAM to 16GB. Google also uses Zoned UFS storage on the higher-capacity configurations.

Google has made AI a major focus of the new phones through Gemini Intelligence. The system is integrated throughout the Pixel experience and can help find information, perform tasks across apps, and assist with everyday activities.

Gemini Intelligence can also improve voice input by removing filler words and turning spoken thoughts into more polished text. Gemini Live can use the phone’s camera to discuss what the user is seeing and provide contextual help.

The phones also support Gemini Nano, Gemini Live, and other Gemini applications, along with features such as Circle to Search and Live Translate.

Google has also highlighted the Tensor G6’s improved efficiency. The company says the chip delivers 50% more TPU computing power and up to 30% better CPU energy efficiency compared with the previous generation.

The Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL share the same triple-camera system.

The main camera is a 50MP Octa PD wide camera with a large 1/1.3-inch sensor, an f/1.68 aperture and an 82-degree field of view. It is joined by a 48MP ultra-wide camera with autofocus, an f/1.7 aperture, a 123-degree field of view and a 1/2.51-inch sensor.

The third camera is a 48MP telephoto unit with optical image stabilization, a 1/1.95-inch sensor, an f/2.8 aperture and 5x optical zoom. The system supports up to 120x Pro Zoom, with optical-quality zoom levels at 0.5x, 1x, 2x, 5x and 10x.

Both phones also have a 42MP front camera with autofocus, an f/2.2 aperture and a 103-degree ultra-wide field of view.

Google has added several new camera features. These include Magic Capture, which can capture photos and videos together and automatically create a polished collection, as well as Camera Looks, Pro controls, Instant Night Sight and Camera Coach.

For video recording, both phones can record 8K video at 24 or 30fps with Video Boost. They can also record 4K video at up to 60fps. Google has added Pro Stable Video and other stabilization tools, while Super Zoom Video supports up to 20x zoom.

The Pixel 11 Pro has a typical 4,850 mAh battery, while the Pixel 11 Pro XL has a larger 5,115 mAh cell. Google rates both phones for more than 30 hours of battery life.

The Pixel 11 Pro supports 30W wired charging and can reach 55% in around 30 minutes when used with a compatible 30W USB-C PPS charger or faster charger.

The Pro XL gets faster 45W wired charging and can reach 75% in about 30 minutes. Both phones support Pixelsnap magnetic wireless charging at up to 25W using the Qi2.2-certified system.

Google says the Tensor G6’s improved efficiency also helps extend battery life. The company claims the new chip provides up to 30% better CPU energy efficiency than the previous generation.

The Google Pixel 11 Pro starts at $1,099 in the US for the 256GB model. Google has also confirmed 512GB and 1TB configurations.

The Pixel 11 Pro XL starts at $1,299 and is also available with 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage options.

Google is offering six months of Google AI Pro with the new Pro phones in supported markets. The subscription provides higher Gemini usage limits and access to additional Google AI features.

The Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL are now available for pre-order through Google in supported markets. Google’s international availability varies by country.
