Government College University (GCU) Lahore has launched its first summer internship program, offering more than 100 on campus internship opportunities for undergraduate students from across Pakistan.

According to the university, the initiative makes GCU the first public sector university in the country to introduce a large scale institutional internship framework for BS students. Vice Chancellor Prof. Muhammad Omer Chaudhry said the program is designed to provide students with practical experience by involving them in the university’s governance, research, and administrative operations.

He added that the internships will also fulfill the mandatory training requirement under the Higher Education Commission’s Undergraduate Policy 2023.

The six to eight week program will run during July and August. Selected interns will work five days a week at either the GCU Main Campus or the Kala Shah Kaku Campus.

The internship will provide hands on experience in areas including strategic planning, academic research and innovation, financial management, information technology, and quality assurance.

The program is open to undergraduate students from GCU and all HEC recognized institutions who have completed the fourth semester of their BS degree with good academic standing. Students awaiting their fourth semester results are also eligible to apply.
