Framework has started shipping its new Laptop 13 Pro, and early sales data show the Linux variant is selling better than the Windows model. The update was shared by Framework as shipments began this week.
According to reports, the new laptop is selling quickly based on Framework’s internal metrics.
The company said six batches of the Intel version had already sold out. It was later added that sales had moved into Batch 8. That suggests strong early demand for the latest Framework Laptop 13 Pro.
Framework said Ubuntu configurations are outselling Windows versions of the laptop.
The company noted that these figures do not include customers who selected the “None (bring your own)” operating system option.
That means the comparison only covers laptops sold with a pre-installed operating system.
Linux laptops remain less common than Windows systems in the wider market.
Buyers looking for laptops with Linux pre-installed often have limited options, with vendors such as System76, Dell on selected models, and a small number of specialist brands.
Framework’s support for Linux may be helping drive interest from users who want repairable hardware and an alternative to Windows.
Framework also said more than one-third of buyers reported replacing a MacBook Pro.
Based on the company’s optional post-purchase survey, it said most of those customers are moving to Linux.
Framework added that the Gray/Black keyboard option is significantly outselling the standard Black keyboard.
The early sales trends suggest buyers continue to value customization, repairability, and Linux support in Framework’s latest laptop lineup.
