The Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) has announced fresh dates for its General Recruitment Tests Phase-I/2026 after the exams were postponed last week.

According to a public notice issued on April 27, the tests were originally scheduled from April 25 to May 6 but have now been rescheduled from May 9 to May 20, 2026.

The commission said admission certificates and the updated timetable for registered candidates will be uploaded by May 2.

Candidates have been advised to check the FPSC website regularly for further updates. The commission also shared helpline numbers for clarification during working hours.

While the notice describes the postponement as being due to administrative reasons, the revised schedule comes after the capital remained under heightened arrangements linked to the proposed second round of the Islamabad Peace Talks between the United States and Iran.

The talks had been expected to take place in Islamabad last week as part of Pakistan’s efforts to keep diplomatic channels open after the first round held earlier this month. However, the second round did not formally go ahead as planned after the planned visit of senior US envoys was called off at the last minute.

Despite that, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi still visited Islamabad and held meetings with Pakistani officials as mediation efforts continued.
