Flydubai has suspended flight operations to and from Islamabad, Lahore, and Peshawar until October 26, citing operational reasons.
The airline confirmed that flights to and from Karachi will continue operating normally. According to the airline’s flight inquiry service in Pakistan, the suspension applies to routes connecting Dubai with Islamabad, Lahore, and Peshawar.
Flight tracking platform Flightradar24 showed that several Flydubai flights on these routes had already been cancelled since at least May 7. Flydubai launched operations in Islamabad and Lahore in July 2024, while flights to Peshawar began in May last year.
In a statement issued on March 31, the airline said it was operating flights across its network on a reduced schedule and advised passengers to regularly check flight status updates before traveling to airports.
While the statement did not directly mention the ongoing Middle East conflict, the airline said it was closely monitoring the situation and adjusting schedules accordingly, adding that passenger and crew safety remained its highest priority.
The suspension comes amid rising pressure on global aviation operations following the US-Iran conflict, which has triggered a sharp increase in jet fuel prices. The International Air Transport Association (IATA) had earlier warned that the fuel crisis linked to the conflict could force airlines to reduce flight schedules during the peak summer travel season.
