A 6-year-old child who sells books on the road to support his family was allegedly assaulted by a staff member at a famous ice cream parlor in Bahria Town Phase 7, Rawalpindi, after he asked for ice during the ongoing hot weather.
According to social media posts, the boy had gone to Sweet Creme’s branch and requested ice as temperatures continue to rise. The request allegedly led to an altercation with a staff member.
The employee then allegedly assaulted the child. A video linked to the incident later circulated online and drew strong criticism from social media users.
The staff member was also confronted after the incident. In the video shared online, the employee was reportedly heard responding to the allegation and downplaying the assault.
The incident quickly triggered public anger. Many users criticized the behavior of the staff and questioned how a child asking for ice could be treated in such a manner.
Sweet Creme later issued a public apology over the incident. The ice cream parlor said it was deeply concerned by what had happened and apologized for the distress caused.
The company also said it had terminated the employee involved and added that it had zero tolerance for such behavior.
