The Capital Development Authority has decided to launch a large-scale operation against illegal constructions in private housing societies across Islamabad, according to reports aired by 24NewsHD on Wednesday.
The operation will target unauthorized residential and commercial buildings constructed on convenience and public facility plots, as well as violations of approved layout plans.
According to CDA officials, illegal constructions have been identified in Bahria Town, Jinnah Garden, Multi Gardens, and Tele Gardens.
The civic authority has issued notices to individuals involved in construction activities on plots reserved for public facilities in various housing societies.
DG Special Planning Ijaz Ahmed Sheikh recommended strict action against all violations, stating that several buildings were being constructed without approved building plans.
The CDA said building plan approval is mandatory under the ICT Building Control Regulations 2020, while action against illegal constructions will also be carried out under the CDA Ordinance 1960 and ICT Zoning Regulations 1992.
Officials described the continued construction on public facility plots as a serious concern and confirmed that photographs of illegal structures had been sent to relevant officers for immediate action.
The CDA has directed its Building and Housing Control Wing to intensify the campaign against unauthorized commercial and residential use of land allocated for public services.
The authority warned that violations of approved layout plans would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
