Cambridge International Education has cancelled AS Level Mathematics Paper 9709/12 taken on April 29, 2026, in administrative zones 3 and 4 after the exam was shared before time in violation of examination rules.

The exam body said the leaked paper will not be used to determine final results and confirmed that all affected candidates will have to appear in a replacement paper instead. The retake has been scheduled for Tuesday, June 9, 2026.

Cambridge made it clear that calculated or assessed marks will not be offered as an alternative, meaning students cannot request grades without sitting the replacement exam.

The body said the decision was taken to protect fairness for all candidates, especially those who did not have access to any leaked material. It added that the replacement paper is aimed at ensuring results remain credible and consistent across affected regions.

Despite the cancellation, Cambridge said the overall results schedule will remain unchanged, with results still due to be released on August 11, 2026. It also said no additional fee will be charged to students or schools for the replacement exam.

Further details will be shared with schools by May 15, including guidance related to withdrawals and entries for the November 2026 session.

Cambridge said investigations into the leak are ongoing and warned that strict sanctions could be imposed on anyone found to have shared or misused confidential exam material. Students have been advised to stay focused on their remaining papers and seek official guidance through their schools or exams officers.
