A major Indian film industry union has issued a non-cooperation directive against Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh after an FIR was registered by a woman accusing Dhurandhar designer Saini S Johray of sexual harassment.

Indian media also reported that boycott demands gained more steam over Singh’s alleged sudden exit from the upcoming film Don 3.

The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) says Singh stepped away from the project just weeks before an overseas shooting schedule, after INR 450 million ($4.7 million) pre-production costs had already been incurred.

The union claims it repeatedly requested clarification from the actor, but he did not reply. In response, FWICE has instructed its members not to collaborate with Singh until he meets union representatives.

The action is not a legal ban, but functions as an industry-wide pressure move that could affect future production partnerships. The controversy has drawn attention due to Singh’s status as one of Bollywood’s most prominent actors and the commercial weight of the Don franchise.

Singh’s PR team has not issued a detailed public response.

The Don series is one of Bollywood’s most recognized action franchises.

FWICE has previously issued similar non-cooperation calls in industry disputes, though rarely involving top-tier stars of Singh’s profile. The move has triggered divided reactions online.
