The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has invited bids for the construction of a new Air Traffic Control (ATC) tower at Skardu International Airport.
The project is part of the authority’s ongoing infrastructure development program aimed at improving operations and safety at the airport.
PAA has also issued electronic tenders for several other development projects at Skardu International Airport. Experienced and financially sound firms have been invited to take part in the bidding process.
According to the authority, eligible contractors must submit their proposals in accordance with the prescribed procurement procedures.
Along with the modern ATC tower, the development plan includes the construction of a new fire station at the airport.
Additional supporting infrastructure and related facilities will also be developed to enhance Skardu International Airport’s operational capacity and safety standards.
The airport development comes after Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) announced the resumption of direct flights from Dubai to Skardu earlier in 2025.
