Cambridge International Education (CIE) is facing renewed scrutiny over exam security after its AS-level Business Studies paper was reportedly leaked online ahead of the exam.

The paper, scheduled to be held today, was allegedly circulated on social media last night, triggering fresh concern among students and parents. Reports said one of the three exam papers being shared online was Business Studies Paper 1, carrying the code 9609.

The latest development comes just days after Cambridge acknowledged that AS Mathematics Paper 1 had also been leaked. In a statement issued on April 30, the examination body confirmed that Cambridge International AS Level Mathematics Paper 12, code 9709, had been shared prematurely in violation of its regulations.

At the time, Cambridge said it had launched a prompt and thorough investigation to assess the scale of the breach and decide the next course of action regarding the compromised paper.

Cambridge Assessment International Education issued the following statement:

“We are aware of news about a reported leak of a question paper. We investigate such reports thoroughly and will provide more information to centers, if required, during or after the end of timetabled exams for the June 2026 series.”

The board had also said its priority was to ensure that students were not disadvantaged while continuing efforts to protect the integrity of the exams and maintain trust in the grading process.

The reported leak of the AS Business Studies paper is likely to intensify concerns over how exam papers are being handled and whether enough safeguards are in place to prevent repeated breaches.
