Anker has introduced its first in-house AI chip platform called Thus. The new chip is scheduled to make its official debut on May 21 during the company’s launch event in New York City.
The announcement marks Anker’s entry into custom silicon development, with an initial focus on compact products such as wireless earbuds.
The Thus chip uses Compute-in-Memory architecture, which combines memory and processing into a single unit.
By processing data where it is stored, the design reduces the need to move information between separate components. This can lower latency, improve speed, and reduce power consumption.
Anker said the chip delivers up to 150 times more AI computing power compared with its earlier audio products.
A key feature of the Thus platform is real-time AI processing directly on the device.
This enables tools such as noise cancellation and voice enhancement to respond faster without depending on cloud computing.
Anker said on-device processing also improves privacy and helps maintain stable performance across different environments.
The first device using the Thus chip will be a new flagship pair of wireless earbuds launching alongside the processor.
The earbuds are expected to feature Clear Calls technology that uses AI-based environmental noise cancellation.
The system includes eight microphones and bone-conduction sensors designed to reduce background noise and improve voice clarity during calls.
Anker said it plans to expand the Thus chip beyond audio products into mobile accessories and other smart devices.
The company’s goal is to bring faster and more efficient on-device AI features to a broader range of consumer products.
