Around 4,000 guards serving in government schools have been dismissed from their jobs, triggering protests by affected workers on Davis Road.
The dismissed employees said they have also not been paid their salaries for July, adding to their financial hardship.
The workers said the job losses and unpaid wages have put them under severe pressure. They demanded that senior authorities take notice of the situation and restore their jobs immediately.
The protest was held after the employees claimed they were left without income and support following the termination orders.
