Two clips claiming to show Grand Theft Auto 6 gameplay have appeared online alongside images showing the full map of Leonida, offering an unofficial look at several gameplay systems just days before Rockstar’s scheduled presentation.

The footage was reportedly published by a person or group calling itself Cyberleek before spreading across social media. Rockstar has not publicly confirmed that the material is genuine, so everything shown should still be treated as unverified and potentially taken from an older development build.

However, Rockstar has been actively taking down the leaked content with DMCA notices online, meaning it was most likely legit. We will not be including any of the leaked footage or screenshots for legal reasons.

Both clips show Jason, one of GTA 6 ‘s two protagonists.

One shows him playing basketball outside his waterfront home. The other shows Jason getting into a road-rage incident after his vehicle collides with a delivery truck, followed by a police response and attempted escape.

The ordinary nature of the footage has led observers to suggest it could have come from internal testing rather than promotional material. However, its source and age remain unclear.

One of the most notable details is an apparent six-star wanted system.

GTA 5 reduced the maximum wanted level to five stars, so this would mark a return to the six-star system used in several older Grand Theft Auto games.

The footage also appears to show police tracking several details about the player, including their clothing, appearance, and vehicle.

That could mean changing clothes or switching vehicles may play a bigger role in escaping law enforcement, although Rockstar has not confirmed how the system works.

Another interface element appears to display a stealth-detection indicator when police approach Jason.

The indicator seemingly tracks how close officers are to spotting the player, suggesting GTA 6 could offer more opportunities to hide from police instead of simply driving away until the wanted level disappears.

A stamina meter also appears during combat and gradually drains as Jason fights.

Perhaps one of the more surprising leaked details is an apparent fuel meter for vehicles.

The interface displays both fuel and engine condition, suggesting players may have to keep an eye on how much gas their vehicles have. Fuel systems have long been popular in GTA 5 mods but have not traditionally been a major mechanic in the main games.

Vehicles also appear to have storage and loadout slots, potentially allowing players to keep equipment inside their cars.

Because this comes from leaked development footage, these mechanics could still be changed or removed before release.

Jason can apparently play basketball using a timing-based minigame where the player presses a button as two indicators line up.

Successfully making a shot increases a stat called Focus. It is not yet clear exactly what Focus does, although comparisons are already being made with character abilities from GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 .

Another symbol appearing after violent actions has led to speculation about some form of morality or reputation system, but there is currently not enough evidence to confirm that interpretation.

Images claiming to show GTA 6’s map have also appeared alongside the footage.

One particularly interesting detail is a vehicle marker carrying a “J,” apparently representing Jason while the player is controlling Lucia. If accurate, GTA 6 may let players see where the other protagonist currently is without switching characters.

The alleged map also appears to contain multiple racetracks, Jason’s home in the southern part of Leonida, and what could be a military facility or airport. These locations remain unconfirmed.

Players will not have to rely on leaks for much longer.

Rockstar has officially announced Grand Theft Auto VI : An Extended Look for August 27. It will premiere on Netflix and YouTube and is expected to provide a much deeper official look at the game.

GTA 6 itself is officially scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
