This Privacy Policy describes how Pehel ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you visit pehel.com or use the Pehel mobile app (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to this policy.
1. Information we collect
We collect only the information needed to operate and improve the Service:
- Usage data. Anonymous analytics (pages viewed, time on site, approximate location derived from IP, device and browser type) via Google Analytics 4.
- Technical logs. Standard server logs such as IP address, request URL, timestamp, and user agent. These are used for debugging and abuse prevention.
- Cookies and local storage. Google Analytics sets cookies to distinguish visitors. The Service also uses local storage and a service worker for offline caching of news pages. No advertising or cross-site-tracking cookies are set by us.
We do not require accounts, and we do not ask for your name, email, phone number, or payment information.
2. How we use information
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Service.
- Understand which stories and topics are of interest to readers in aggregate.
- Diagnose technical issues and protect the Service from abuse.
- Comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal data.
3. Third-party services
The Service relies on a few third-party providers. Their use of information is governed by their own policies:
- Google Analytics — policies.google.com/privacy
- Google Fonts — serves web fonts; may log the font request.
- YouTube — when a headline video is embedded, YouTube (Google) may set cookies. We use the youtube-nocookie.com variant to minimize tracking.
- Social share targets (X / Twitter, Facebook, WhatsApp, LinkedIn) — only invoked when you tap a share button. No data is sent to them unless you explicitly share.
4. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us and we will delete it.
5. Data retention
Analytics data is retained for up to 14 months in Google Analytics, after which it is automatically deleted. Server logs are rotated and retained for up to 90 days for debugging and abuse prevention.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete information we hold about you, or to object to or restrict certain processing. Since we do not collect identifying information by default, requests are typically limited to asking us to delete server logs associated with your IP address. Contact us at the address below.
You can opt out of Google Analytics site-wide by installing the official Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by blocking cookies for this site in your browser.
7. Security
The Service is served over HTTPS. We apply reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
8. International transfers
Our servers and third-party providers may process data in countries other than yours. By using the Service you consent to this transfer.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Significant changes will be highlighted on the homepage or via an in-app notice.
