Anthropic has received approval from the US government to restore access to Claude Mythos 5 for selected American organisations that operate and defend critical infrastructure.
The decision partially restores access to Anthropic’s strongest cybersecurity model following restrictions introduced on June 12.
Anthropic said it has been working closely with the US government since June 12 to restore access to Claude Mythos 5 and Claude Fable 5.
The government has now informed the company that Mythos 5 can be redeployed to a group of US organisations responsible for critical infrastructure operations and cybersecurity.
Anthropic said it is working to restore access for the approved organisations as quickly as possible.
The approval does not make Mythos 5 generally available. Anthropic said it will continue working with the government to expand access to the cybersecurity model.
Claude Fable 5 also remains unavailable for general use. The company said discussions with the government are continuing as it seeks approval to restore wider access to the model.
