Karachi paid tribute to two of Pakistan’s renowned cultural figures after roads in North Nazimabad were named after celebrated playwright Haseena Moin and legendary music composer Nisar Bazmi during a ceremony organized by the town administration.
The road-naming event was held in Block I of North Nazimabad and was attended by President Arts Council Karachi Muhammad Ahmed Shah as the chief guest.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ahmed Shah said North Nazimabad and nearby areas had historically remained home to several literary, cultural, and religious personalities, including Haseena Moin, Nisar Bazmi, and Maulana Maahirul Qadri.
He said naming roads after influential figures connected with the city was an important way to preserve Karachi’s cultural and literary identity for future generations.
Ahmed Shah further said Karachi had long served as one of the country’s major economic, industrial, and cultural centers, adding that continued efforts were needed to protect and promote the city’s historical and cultural heritage.
