Lahore Traffic Police have finalized traffic arrangements for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11 final at Gaddafi Stadium, while authorities have also put strict security measures in place for players and officials.
The PSL 11 final will be played today in Lahore between Peshawar Zalmi and Hyderabad Kingsmen.
According to the Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore, 8 DSPs, 90 traffic inspectors and more than 500 wardens will perform duty during the final. The traffic police have also set up 5 parking stands for cricket fans.
The CTO said 11 forklifts have been deployed to remove wrongly parked vehicles. Spectators will be able to park their vehicles at Government College for Boys and CBD Parking.
Fans coming from Mughalpura and Garhi Shahu will park their vehicles at Main Boulevard Gulberg Liberty.
Traffic police said all major roads, including Mall Road, Jail Road and Canal Road, will remain open for traffic.
7,000 Police Personnel Deployed for Security
IG Punjab said Punjab Police are providing full security to local and foreign players, officials and spectators.
He said more than 7,000 police officers and personnel will perform security duty during the match.
The IG Punjab directed supervisory officers to personally review all security and traffic arrangements. He also instructed police personnel at duty points to remain highly alert and keep a close watch on suspicious activity.
He said all institutions, including security agencies, are coordinating to ensure the peaceful conduct of the PSL final.
The IG also ordered search and intelligence-based operations around players’ residences, routes and stadium areas. He further directed that police snipers be deployed at the stadium and on nearby high-rise buildings.
