An alleged embezzlement case involving school-specific budget funds has surfaced in the Sindh Education Department after a suspended employee reportedly became a vendor for schools through a company he established.
The employee, identified as Mohammad Ali, allegedly prepared fake and tampered bills for goods that were said to have been delivered to different schools. He also reportedly submitted fake bills for District Education Officers.
After the alleged irregularities were detected, the Sindh Education Department decided to launch an investigation into the matter.
A spokesperson for the department said strict action would be taken against all individuals found to be involved in corruption.
Mohammad Ali had earlier been directed to report to the Education Department after he was caught cheating during matriculation examinations.
