A young girl was injured after being attacked by stray dogs inside the Punjab University campus in Lahore, raising fresh concerns over the growing stray dog menace in the city.
According to reports, the victim is the young daughter of a Punjab University professor. She suffered multiple bite injuries after being attacked by stray dogs on campus and was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
The child sustained deep wounds on different parts of her body. Her condition has not been officially disclosed.
The incident has sparked concern among university staff and employees, who have urged the administration to take immediate action to eliminate stray dogs from the campus and ensure the safety of students, faculty members, and their families.
The attack came on the same day two other children were injured in a separate stray dog attack near Sundar in Lahore. Both victims were shifted to hospital for treatment after being mauled by dogs inside a housing society.
The latest incidents follow the recent deaths of two children from dog attacks in Lahore, further highlighting the city’s worsening stray dog problem.
Residents have repeatedly complained that the increasing number of stray dogs has made it difficult and dangerous to move around many parts of the city. Citizens are now calling on the Punjab government and local authorities to launch an effective campaign to control the stray dog population and prevent further attacks.
The back-to-back incidents have renewed demands for urgent measures to protect public safety, particularly as children continue to be among the most vulnerable victims of stray dog attacks.
