The Sindh High Court (SHC) has suspended the results of the Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) 2024 conducted by the Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC) after candidates challenged the process’s transparency.
A two-member bench in Karachi, comprising Justice Muhammad Saleem Jessar and Justice Nisar Ahmed Bhanbro, issued the order on Thursday and summoned SPSC officials along with the complete examination record.
The court also directed the commission to preserve and seal all records related to CCE-2024.
The order came during the hearing of a petition filed by seven candidates who alleged irregularities in the examination process and questioned its fairness. The court observed that serious concerns had been raised and suspended the results announced on May 6 until further orders.
It also barred any further action based on the announced results.
The SPSC had declared 70 candidates successful on May 6, with marks ranging from 500 to 610. The successful candidates were selected under male, female, urban, and rural quotas.
The commission had advertised the posts on December 2, 2024. The screening test was conducted in October 2025, while the written examinations were held in December 2025 in Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, and Larkana.
The result announcement sparked protests, after which the SPSC registered an FIR against demonstrators outside its Hyderabad office. Three vloggers and social media users were also booked for allegedly inciting unrest.
The petitioners, Abdul Rehman, Ahsan Ali, Ataullah Shah, Muhammad Shoaib, Noman Kalwar, Asad Ali, and Allah Dino, filed the case through advocates Ali Lakhani and Kamran Isran.
They argued that several candidates with higher marks were not declared successful, while allegedly less deserving candidates were selected.
The petitioners also claimed that the SPSC’s credibility had repeatedly come under question in courts over similar controversies and requested the bench to order an audit of the results.
The court issued notices to the Sindh government, SPSC, its secretary, and the controller of examinations, directing them to appear on May 21.
