The Punjab Government has decided to launch a new cultural initiative titled “Punjab Dharti Rang” to promote heritage and traditional activities across the province.

According to sources, the project will be included in the upcoming budget, with an estimated allocation of Rs3 billion to be spent over the next three years.

Under the plan, cultural committees will be established at the district level to organise and promote activities.

Authorities aim to revive traditional festivals, including Basant and Mela Chiraghan, along with other cultural and religious events.

Officials said the initiative will focus on engaging young people in arts, crafts, and cultural programmes. Festivals, exhibitions, and competitions will be organised to highlight local talent.

The project also includes plans for training artists and artisans, with a focus on skill development to support cultural industries.

Authorities say the initiative aims to strengthen cultural identity while creating opportunities for artists and local communities.
