The Punjab Medical Faculty (PMF) has decided to introduce major changes to its examination system, with all annual exams set to shift to a multiple-choice question (MCQ) format from December.

Under the new system, examination papers will be based entirely on MCQs, while candidates’ answer sheets will be checked through Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) machines.

The move is aimed at making the examination process faster, more transparent, and efficient. Automated checking is expected to reduce the time required for paper evaluation and help the faculty announce results without unnecessary delays.

The use of OMR technology will also reduce the chances of human error during checking and make the overall result preparation process more organized.

According to PMF officials, the new system is intended to provide greater convenience and transparency for students while ensuring timely results.

All annual examinations conducted by the Punjab Medical Faculty from December onward will follow the new MCQ-based format.
