Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed the complete outsourcing of operations of the Islamabad Technology Park, while ordering the authorities to expedite its construction and make the facility operational at the earliest.

The directives were issued during a review meeting on reforms at the National Information Technology Board (NITB) and progress on the technology park.

The Prime Minister expressed displeasure over delays in completing the Islamabad Technology Park and instructed relevant authorities to ensure its early completion.

He also directed NITB to focus on delivering simple, efficient and modern digital services to citizens and ordered further improvements to government digital platforms.

Shehbaz Sharif said the transition of federal ministries to e-office was a major digital governance reform and directed that its use be extended to subordinate departments and state-owned enterprises.

The meeting was informed that NITB has completed its rightsizing process, while appointments to key positions are being made through a transparent mechanism. All federal ministries have shifted to e-office, with efforts underway to expand the system across other government entities.

The Prime Minister also ordered the early digitisation of records related to government properties and called for faster digitalisation of government institutions.
