Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has approved the Daanish Schools Authority rules, Managing Director rules, and other regulations in principle during a meeting of the Daanish Authority Board.

The board also approved the transfer of all land allotted for Daanish schools to the name of the Daanish Schools Authority. The prime minister directed the authority to keep its structure compact to save resources.

Chairing the first board meeting, Shehbaz Sharif said providing equal education and development opportunities to economically weaker children remains a top priority for the government.

He said the Daanish Schools model was built on this principle and provides merit-based admission and education to deserving students.

The prime minister also ordered authorities to complete all under-construction Daanish schools within the set timeframe. He directed them to include project-based learning and personality development courses in the curriculum.

Officials told the meeting that out of 29 proposed Daanish schools across the country, 15 have been approved and work is under way on 13.

The board also approved the establishment of a model international-standard teachers’ training institute for Daanish school staff.
