Authorities have finalized detailed arrangements to ensure cleanliness, manage cattle markets, and maintain uninterrupted civic services during Eid al-Adha.
The decisions were made during a meeting chaired by Regional Municipal Officer Sajjad Haider and Director General of the Capital Metropolitan Government Qadeer Naseer.
Officials directed all relevant officers and field staff to remain on duty throughout the Eid holidays. They said the move would help ensure smooth implementation of the plan and uninterrupted municipal services for citizens.
The meeting decided that all available resources would be used to maintain cleanliness in village councils. Authorities will also ensure the timely disposal of animal waste and provide special facilities at approved cattle markets.
A special duty schedule has been prepared for sanitation workers. Their leaves have also been cancelled to ensure full staff availability during Eid al-Adha.
Authorities will deploy additional machinery and staff for the proper disposal of offal. The waste will be shifted away from residential areas to prevent foul smells and reduce environmental risks.
Meanwhile, officials directed the use of special sprays and disinfectants in all cattle markets to prevent the spread of Congo virus and other diseases.
Contractors and market owners were also told to strictly follow government guidelines. They must set up separate animal sections, install strong bamboo fencing, and create separate entry and exit points for buyers.
Officials said these measures would help prevent overcrowding and reduce the risk of accidents in cattle markets.
The meeting also decided to launch action against illegal cattle markets without discrimination. Authorities said cleanliness and public safety would be ensured at all approved markets so buyers and traders can visit the city in a healthy and secure environment during Eid al-Azha.
