The Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources (PCRWR) has classified 201 bottled and mineral water brands as overall safe in its latest quarterly quality assessment covering April to June 2026.
PCRWR tested 230 bottled water brands collected from 20 cities during the quarter. The report classified 201 brands as overall safe and 29 as unsafe. It further found 220 brands chemically safe and 208 microbiologically safe.
According to PCRWR’s detailed testing table, the following 201 entries were classified as safe in both chemical and microbiological testing:
PCRWR collected the samples from markets in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, Sargodha, Sahiwal, Faisalabad, Tando Jam, Gujranwala, Badin, Sialkot, Dera Ismail Khan, Bahawalpur, Karachi, Lahore, Mianwali, Muzaffarabad, Gilgit and Sukkur. The council collected four bottles of each brand and used separate samples for microbiological and physicochemical analysis.
