Pakistan’s young squash players made a strong start to their campaign at the 33rd Asian Junior Individual Squash Championships 2026, currently being held in Panzhihua, China.
The Asian Junior Squash Championship 2026, which runs until May 24, has already seen several Pakistani players record convincing victories in the opening rounds across different age categories.
In the Under-19 category, Abdullah Nawaz delivered a commanding performance against Indonesia’s Muhammad Razka Idhmi Sulaeman, winning 11-1, 11-3, 11-5 in just 27 minutes.
Pakistan’s Under-17 players were also dominant. M. Umair Arif defeated Thailand’s Peemawat Poonsiripuk 11-2, 11-4, 11-2, while Nauman Khan beat China’s Liao Zhongyu 11-3, 11-3, 11-4 in a one-sided match.
In the Under-13 event, Mustafa Khan continued Pakistan’s winning run with a comfortable 11-3, 11-4, 11-2 victory over Joseph Alexander Chang.
One of the fastest wins of the day came from Sohail Adnan in the Under-15 category, where he defeated Alexander Muratidis 11-2, 11-1, 11-2 in just 11 minutes.
Pakistan’s girls also impressed on the opening day. Mahnoor Ali produced a dominant performance to beat Anna Ugay 11-2, 11-1, 11-0.
Sehrish Ali also advanced after showing composure in a 3-1 win over Zhu Chenxuan. She won 11-6, 11-1, 9-11, 11-2.
