The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has identified organized networks facilitating illegal migration to Europe through multiple transit routes, including Dubai, Cambodia, Thailand, and Malaysia.

Agents informed a parliamentary committee today that individuals often travel on visit or study visas and later attempt to cross into Europe via high-risk routes.

In many cases, travelers first reach countries such as Thailand and then illegally cross borders into Cambodia, while others use Malaysia-based direct flights linked to smuggling networks.

The FIA said students and first-time travelers from districts such as Gujrat and Mandi Bahauddin often lack basic travel knowledge, indicating organized recruitment and facilitation networks.

The agency also confirmed that foreign governments, including Cambodia, have reported arrests of Pakistani nationals involved in illegal crossings.

Authorities added that illegal immigration cases are being monitored continuously, with regular 15-day reporting cycles on immigration trends and enforcement actions.

Meanwhile, the committee was also informed that FIA offloaded 39,786 passengers during 2025 due to various travel irregularities.

Of the total, 20,408 passengers were stopped because of incomplete travel documentation, while 12,673 were flagged due to suspicious travel patterns and intended travel to high-risk destinations.

The data showed that 3,450 individuals were offloaded after being identified through watchlists and Interpol alerts. Authorities also prevented 505 passengers from traveling due to improper travel routes.

281 passengers were stopped for carrying fake documents, while 176 were flagged because of unusual travel histories. Another 145 cases required further verification of visas and travel protector documents.

FIA also reported that 258 minors were offloaded due to safety concerns. Meanwhile, 24 individuals were prevented from traveling on suspicion that they intended to seek employment while holding visit visas.
