A Pakistani finance professional has become an overnight millionaire after winning $1 million in the Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire Series 550, despite buying just one ticket in the promotion. Hira Nayyer, a 38-year-old chartered accountant, said she decided to participate after a colleague mentioned the Dubai Duty Free draw at work. Having never heard of the promotion before, she visited the website and purchased a single ticket online on July 3.

The win makes her the 29th Pakistani to claim the $1 million prize. Speaking to Khaleej Times, Nayyer said she was watching the live draw from her office when her ticket number was announced and initially struggled to believe she had actually won.

Although the life-changing prize has transformed her financial future, Nayyer said she has shared the news only with her fiancé and is taking time before making any major decisions.

She revealed that buying a home has long been one of her biggest goals. She is now considering purchasing property, either in Dubai or Pakistan, saying the prize has given her the opportunity to turn a lifelong dream into reality. The unexpected windfall has provided both financial security and the chance to invest in a permanent home for her future family.
