Pakistan has decided to make passport fee payments fully digital to make the process easier, faster, and more transparent for citizens.
The decision was made during an important meeting chaired by the Director General of Immigration and Passports, Muhammad Ali Randhawa. Representatives from the National Bank, JazzCash, EasyPaisa, and other institutions attended the meeting.
During the meeting, it was decided that passport fee payments would be shifted to a completely digital system in line with the vision of the Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the Interior Ministry.
Muhammad Ali Randhawa directed officials to introduce a modern payment system so citizens would no longer have to stand in long queues at banks to pay passport fees. All stakeholders assured full cooperation for the early implementation of the cashless system.
Separately, authorities also reviewed measures to further improve service quality at passport offices. The aim is to ensure that citizens receive faster, more transparent, and dignified services.
As part of these efforts, Muhammad Ali Randhawa visited the Regional Passport Office in G-10, Islamabad, where he reviewed the facilities being provided to citizens.
According to the spokesperson, Randhawa met citizens during the visit, listened to their problems and complaints, and directed the relevant officers to resolve them immediately.
He also monitored the cashless system already implemented at the office and expressed satisfaction over its effective implementation.
Randhawa said the use of modern technology is increasing transparency and making services more convenient for citizens.
He reaffirmed his commitment to further improving service standards at passport offices so citizens can receive fast, transparent, and dignified facilities.
