Russian nationals applying for Pakistani visas will now be required to complete sponsor biometric verification through the PakID application, according to an announcement by the Embassy of Pakistan in Russia.

The embassy said visa applications submitted without the sponsor’s biometric verification will not be processed and urged applicants to comply with the updated requirement.

According to the embassy, Russian citizens can apply for tourist visas to Pakistan only through the online visa portal of the Ministry of Interior. Applicants are required to submit a photograph and a valid passport as part of the application process.

The tourist visa is issued for 90 days and allows multiple entries. However, the embassy noted that the issuance of visas remains the prerogative of the Government of Pakistan. The mission also advised travelers to submit their intent to travel at least 24 hours before their planned trip in order to receive a Visa Grant Notice.

In addition, the embassy reminded applicants that foreign nationals holding a Visa Prior to Arrival are not permitted to enter or leave Pakistan through the Chaman and Torkham land border crossings.

The embassy directed applicants to follow the updated procedures, including sponsor biometric verification through the PakID application, to avoid delays in the processing of visa requests.
