The National Highway Authority (NHA) has informed the Sindh High Court (SHC) that rehabilitation work on a section of the National Highway (N-5) between Moro and Kotri Kabir is expected to be completed by mid-August.

During a hearing on road safety and highway conditions, an SHC bench directed the NHA to ensure that traffic flow on the N-5 remains uninterrupted while restoration work continues.

The court also ordered the Motorway Police to conduct an inquiry into a recent traffic accident on the National Highway in Naushahro Feroze and submit a report at the next hearing.

The case stems from a petition highlighting concerns over the condition of major road networks, including the M-9 Motorway and the National Highway, and their alleged role in fatal traffic accidents.

NHA officials told the court that work on the Moro-Kotri Kabir section is progressing and reaffirmed their commitment to completing the project by mid-August. The court directed the authority to take all necessary measures to prevent disruption to traffic during the rehabilitation process.
