Rescue teams later launched firefighting and evacuation operations and safely shifted all passengers from the bus. Officials said the metro bus was completely destroyed in the fire. More than 12 rescue personnel and four emergency vehicles participated in the operation.
Preliminary investigations suggested the fire may have been caused by a short circuit, according to rescue authorities. Following the incident, metro bus service on the track was suspended temporarily, while ticket counters at stations were also closed.
