LG has launched a new budget monitor for users who want to upgrade a basic desk setup without spending much.
The LG 24U411B uses a 23.8-inch IPS panel with a 1920 x 1080 resolution. At this screen size, 1080p provides standard pixel density, keeping text readable without the need for operating system scaling.
The main hardware feature is its 144Hz refresh rate. Compared with standard 60Hz or 75Hz office monitors, the higher refresh rate allows smoother cursor movement, window dragging, and web page scrolling.
For gaming, LG has included a 1ms Motion Blur Reduction mode to reduce ghosting in fast-moving scenes.
The monitor also supports AMD FreeSync Premium. This allows the display to match its refresh rate with the graphics card, helping reduce screen tearing and input lag during gameplay.
LG says the panel covers 99% of the sRGB color space. This makes it suitable for general web browsing, video playback, and basic photo editing.
The monitor also accepts an HDR10 signal. However, given its price, it does not have the local dimming or high brightness needed for true HDR performance. Its wide sRGB coverage should still help display standard colors accurately.
The LG 24U411B has a minimal design with thin bezels on the top and sides. This can help users who want to place two monitors next to each other.
It uses a basic slim stand that takes up limited desk space. The monitor also works with the LG Switch app, which lets users adjust settings and manage split-screen layouts with a mouse instead of using the physical monitor buttons.
LG has also included Flicker Safe and Reader Mode features to reduce screen flicker and blue light.
Connectivity remains limited to basic options. The back of the monitor includes one HDMI 2.2 port, a 3.5mm headphone jack for audio passthrough, and a DC power input.
The monitor does not include DisplayPort, USB-C video input, or a built-in USB hub for peripherals.
The new LG 24U411B is priced at roughly $96. Despite its entry-level price, the monitor includes several features aimed at casual gamers and remote workers. The monitor is launched in China, but it should arrive in the international market soon.
