Thousands of students appearing in examinations under the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Lahore may soon benefit from a fully paperless admission process as authorities consider eliminating the requirement to submit hard copies of admission forms.

According to sources, nearly 600,000 students appear in matriculation examinations each year under the Lahore Board, while more than 500,000 candidates take intermediate examinations.

Despite submitting applications online, students from both public and private educational institutions are currently required to provide physical copies of their admission forms to the board.

Under the proposed system, candidates would no longer need to submit manual admission forms, and the entire registration process would be completed online.

Officials said the move would save students from making repeated visits to board offices while reducing both time and administrative costs. The initiative is also expected to streamline the examination registration process and improve efficiency.

Sources added that a final decision on implementing a completely paperless admission system is expected during the upcoming meeting of the Punjab Boards Committee of Chairmen.

If approved, the new system could provide significant relief to more than one million students annually.
