Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department has announced more than 830 vaccinator jobs across various districts of the province as part of efforts to strengthen immunization services.

The Director of Health Services has issued a notification that the recruitment process for Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) vaccinators has officially begun.

The appointments will be made on a temporary contract basis for the financial year 2025–26.

Officials said the provincial government allocated Rs253.16 million for the recruitment drive, while selected candidates will receive a monthly salary of Rs40,000.

The Health Department directed all District Health Officers to complete the hiring process as soon as possible. Authorities will conduct recruitment under the Initial Appointment Rules for Civil Servants 2026.

The department also released a district-wise list of vacant positions to facilitate the recruitment process.

The development comes as Pakistan continues efforts to contain polio cases in high-risk areas. Earlier this month, two new polio cases were reported from Bannu and North Waziristan, raising the country’s total number of cases this year to three.

According to sources at the National Institute of Health, one case emerged from Jani Khel in Bannu, while the second was reported from Gariom in North Waziristan.

Officials said polio vaccination campaigns remain suspended in some union councils due to security concerns, making several areas inaccessible to vaccination teams.
