The federal government has announced a significant reduction in fuel prices, including a major cut of Rs41.44 per litre in kerosene oil, providing relief to consumers across Pakistan.
Under the revised rates, the price of kerosene oil has been reduced from Rs313.44 to Rs272 per liter.
Earlier, the government also lowered the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel by Rs22 per liter each. Following the reduction, petrol will now be available at Rs381.78 per liter, while diesel will be sold at Rs380.78 per liter.
According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, Shehbaz Sharif said the government had promised to pass on financial relief to the public whenever fiscal space became available and was now fulfilling that commitment.
The prime minister reiterated that public relief remains a top priority and noted that similar reductions in fuel prices had also been announced recently.
The statement added that despite challenging economic conditions, the government continues to support consumers through relief measures, including subsidies benefiting public transport, goods transportation, motorcyclists, and rickshaw drivers.
The latest reduction in fuel prices is expected to ease transportation costs and provide some financial relief to households and businesses affected by rising living expenses.
