Islamabad is set to welcome Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on June 23, in what is shaping up to be a high-profile and diplomatically significant visit for both countries.
Authorities in the federal capital have completed wide-ranging beautification, protocol, and security arrangements ahead of the Iranian president’s arrival.
The Capital Development Authority (CDA) and the Islamabad Chief Commissioner’s office have carried out extensive work across key parts of the city, particularly along major roads, transit corridors, and the Red Zone.
As part of the preparations, the capital has been decorated with portraits, welcome banners, and the national flags of Pakistan and Iran. Special flower displays, fresh seasonal plantations, and updated landscaping have also been added along protocol routes to give the city a more welcoming look.
Officials have also enhanced lighting arrangements at major junctions and central locations, with additional digital and street illumination installed for the visit.
Sanitation teams remained active around the clock to ensure cleanliness along all expected convoy routes, while strict security measures have been put in place in and around sensitive government areas.
The Red Zone has seen particularly tight arrangements, with authorities assisting law enforcement agencies in route management, barrier placement, perimeter control, and digital surveillance ahead of expected meetings at the Prime Minister’s House and the Presidency.
The visit comes at a crucial diplomatic moment as Pakistan continues to play a mediating role in ongoing talks between Iran and the United States. It also follows recent high-level discussions that produced a 60-day roadmap aimed at moving both sides toward a final agreement.
